5 Reasons You Need a VA

The pandemic showed businesses just how effective workers could be from home. However, some of us have known this for many years. I have been running a business from home for well over 15 years, and for me, it’s the perfect work environment. It does take an element of discipline, but the payoff makes it worthwhile. As a virtual assistant, it’s my job to make your job easier. I’m here to free up your time and take care of the paperwork and other daily tasks that prevent you from performing at your best. If you have considered hiring a virtual assistant but never actually decided to try, here are 10 reasons why I think virtual assistants like me are pretty invaluable.

1. Reduces Staff Costs

Employing people costs you money, whereas virtual assistants like me work on a self-employed basis and simply bill you for the hours we work. You don’t have to worry about payroll, or any office, space, computers or equipment, as I have my own setup. Generally, even part-time employees have fixed hours and also that might not work for you. The fact I can organise my own schedule means I can slot in work on an ad hoc basis, rather than only being available for certain hours.

2. Dump the Tasks You Hate

One of the most hated chores in life is the cleaning. This is, why millions of people all over the world hire a cleaner, especially when they work full time. Instead of coming home to a mountain of housework, they can simply kick back and relax. No, as a virtual assistant, I don’t clean, but I do take care of the tasks you hate. I can do data entry, Internet research, schedule your meetings, handle customer enquiries and send emails and newsletters. I can update your social media, I could write your blog, or I can make phone calls. Anything that you hate doing on the admin side of running your business can be palmed off onto me, and I don’t mind at all.

3. Take Advantage of My Skills

I’ve pretty much worked in admin in one way or the other since I left school over 25 years ago. This means I have gained some cool skills in various disciplines, including social media management, advanced Excel skills and many others. We shouldn’t all be good at everything, that would make you a really annoying person, for one thing!  But seriously, the skills I have are yours to use. I have plenty of clients who hate spreadsheets or posting on social media accounts, and I’m more than happy to do this on your behalf.

4. Save Your Time for Important Things

Okay, to be fair, everything about running a business is important, but if I am doing your admin, you have more time to focus on your daily business management, and strategies for growing your business and gaining new clients, which is probably the aim for most people running their own company.

5. Offer More Flexible Services

One of my clients works a lot of weekends, meaning they are away from the office and out in the field. The weekend is also when a lot of potential clients are off work and want to get information about the services offered. Because I work those hours, I am on hand to deal with queries and offer excellent customer service when nobody has to wait for an answer. I can be flexible and fit in with your schedule, or you could hire virtual assistants in other countries who will be working while you are sleeping.
